The Canon EOS Rebel T3i builds on its predecessor, the EOS Rebel T2i, by adding a Vari-angle LCD monitor and new still and video shooting features. It retains the T2i’s 18-megapixel CMOS sensor, full HD video, 63-zone dual-layer metering and 9-point AF system, providing the outdoor shooter with a compact and capable camera.

Like its siblings, the EOS 60D and EOS 7D, the T3i can shoot 1920x1080p full HD video at 30 (29.97), 24 (23.976) or 25 fps, 1280x720p HD video at 60 (59.94) or 50 fps, and 640x480p SD video at 60 (59.94) or 50 fps. A new Movie Digital Zoom feature provides 3X-10X magnification of the center of the image in full HD mode, while Video Snapshot captures short video clips and combines them into a single video file ready to share online or show on an HDTV. You easily can control exposure and focus manually when desired, or use AF before and during shooting. The built-in microphone provides mono sound, or you can use an optional self-powered stereo mic to record stereo sound. You can shoot videos with the full range of some 60 Canon EF and EF-S lenses.

		18-Megapixel CMOS Sensor Landscape aficionados will appreciate the T3i’s 18-megapixel Canon CMOS image sensor, which is the same basic unit as the EOS 60D, and DIGIC 4 processor, which can turn out highly detailed images of both scenery and wildlife. ISO settings run from 100-6400, expandable to 12,800.
3.7 fps Shooting The T3i has a 3.7 fps maximum shooting rate for up to 34 Large/Fine JPEGs or 6 RAW files. This ties it with the T2i for fastest Rebel and puts it close to the EOS 60D at 5.3 fps.	63-Zone Dual-Layer Metering The T3i has the same 63-zone dual-layer metering that was introduced in the EOS 7D. This system takes color as well as luminosity into account for more accurate readings. Metering options include 9% partial, 4% spot and center-weighted.	Sensor-Dust Reduction Like all recent EOS DSLRs, the T3i features the Canon self-cleaning sensor and dust-resisting fluorine coating on the low-pass filter to keep dust off the sensor and your images spot-free.
